Fun Halloween Pumpkin Lights

We are at the end of August now. The stores are putting out their Fall and Halloween decorations. Side note, I have even seen some Christmas decorations out! This makes me so excited!

Decorating for ALL the holidays brings me joy. Whether I am crafting up my own stuff, adding a spin to something I already own, or buying something new.

Well this year I am starting early, and I am okay with it!

I have had a lot of people tell me “It’s too early.” “It’s only August.” “Why don’t you wait until October.”

Why should I? There is no rule that tells me what day I can start decorating my own house.

School is starting soon, in just about two weeks and when that happens I will be in full blown busy Mom mode.

So, right now, while I have the time let the decorating commence!

I recently found these Halloween pumpkin candy buckets at Walmart. This year they are $1.98 each. I happily added four to my cart.

I looked around the solar lights that were leftover. Mind you, it’s the end of August so most of the summer decorations are gone. I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for.

I ended up at Sam’s Club and found these solar lights and they were exactly what I needed. Bonus, they were on the Instant Savings markdown and were only $16.98 for all four!

Now the fun part – it was time to assemble

We started these off by taking the black handles off the pumpkins and then drilling a small hole in the bottom about the circumference of the solar lights. You don’t want to make your hole too big or the pumpkin won’t stay up where it needs to be.

Once you have that drilled, take the top of the solar light off and insert the bottom through the hole you drilled in the pumpkin.

Next, add the top of the solar light back on.

Now your almost done. Once outside add the solar light stake where you want the lantern, next add the pumpkin and wait for dark!
